News from the Financial Aid Community
Federal Student Aid posted an Electronic Announcement on November 24, 2009, announcing the availability of a new "Status of Loans Purchased by ED Report" that schools can utilize in addition to the individual lookup option. FSA also posted a newsletter that elaborates on NSLDS identification information for FFEL Purchased Loans.
On November 25, 2009, Federal Student Aid announced the recent establishment of the Federal Student Aid Data Center that serves as a centralized online resource for Federal Student Aid data. The Data Center publishes award year data on a quarterly basis for each of the Title IV programs by school and also hosts FAFSA application volume reports.
The first quarterly customer satisfaction surveys of borrowers, schools, and federal personnel who interface with the four new servicers that support loans for the Department of Education will be conducted this week. More information about the survey process and notification as well as the survey launch can be found in the Electronic Announcement dated November 24, 2009.
The Common Manual Governing Board approved the most recent revisions, eight proposals from Batch 162, to the Common Manual on November 19, 2009. Each policy is currently available.
Register for SWASFAA Boot Camp in December 2009SWASFAA will be hosting Boot Camp on Monday, December 7 through Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Its Annual Conference will then follow from Wednesday, December 9 to Friday, December 11. Registration information, hotel accomodations and more about this year's conference can be found here.
