Toolkit for counselors **NEW**
A new toolkit for counselors is now available! The toolkit titled
Counselor's Puzzle-Solving Toolkit - A Game Plan
for Piecing Together a Successful Financial Aid Event was developed to
be a go-to resource for counselors and mentors who are planning a financial aid
event for parents and students. The kit includes a checklist, sample letter to
parents, sample news releases, suggested intercom and e-mail announcements,
sample donation letter, a ready-to-use event flyer, and a list of resources.
SLGFA Report to the Counselor's Office
Report to the Counselor's Office is SLGFA’s free, monthly electronic newsletter which provides information to
middle and high school counselors. Subscribe today so
that you can get important updates about financial aid programs, as well as information about new SLGFA services and products.

You can order informational brochures and publications for distribution to students. SLGFA publishes brochures on how to complete the FAFSA, student loans, and default prevention.

College fairs
College fairs should be about more than just choosing a college. Let SLGFA help enhance your fair by answering your student's questions about student loans (in-depth information from annual loan limits to repayment options) and debt management. Financial literacy events and content
SLGFA staff can conduct financial literacy presentations during college fair, PTA conferences, and other events. Contact us to schedule your event. Want to provide even more financial literacy education? Have students use our financial literacy content, which includes information and links to sites with games, videos, fun facts, and more. Your students can learn about money ─ earning, spending, saving, and investing!
National Training for Counselors and Mentors (NT4CM)
SLGFA participates in the National Training for Counselors and Mentors program, which provides free education and support for high school counselors and mentors who assist families in preparing financially for college. Get more information.
