Assistance Department Manager Rita Toland provided information about the General
Provisions regulations that become effective July 1, 2008.

SLGFA Caller and Information and Assistance Department Manager Theresa McDuffee,
provided helpful strategies to ensure a smooth processing season.

Officer/Trainer Pamela Baker and SLGFA Client Services Representatives Lisa
Griffin and Bonnie Hartz presented this session detailing the life of the loan
from application certification to repayment, including guarantee and
disbursement of loan funds.

Default Prevention
Presented by John
Pierson from the U.S. Department of Education and SLGFA Default Prevention
Coordinator Sandy Beaty, this session provided information about the current
phase of the Arkansas Default Prevention Project. Representatives also shared
the latest default prevention techniques and addressed measures to reduce
delinquency and default.

FFELP Regulations Published November 1, 2007; College Cost Reduction and Access
Act
This session, presented by SLGFA Policy and Compliance Division Manager
Becky Collins and SLGFA Training and Technical Assistance Department Manager
Rita Toland, provided participants with an overview of the provisions that will
affect the administration of student loans.

This session, presented by SLGFA Database and
Technical Support Specialist Patsy Blazer covered the Electronic Reports
Distribution System as a way to access reports via the Web.
"Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader"
Introduction to FEELP
SLGFA Compliance Officers/Trainers Pamela Baker and
Clay Berry presented information about how regulations are organized and where
to find important guidance.

Use of Preferred Lender Lists
This session, presented by Cheryl Lyons from the
University of Central Arkansas and Carlia Smith from the University of Arkansas
System, helped participants understand how to use preferred lender lists and the
new regulations covering them.

SLGFA Update
SLGFA Executive Director Ronnie Nichoalds and SLGFA
Deputy Director/Chief Financial Officer Sue Balest provided updates on SLGFA
regarding current and future initiatives at SLGFA as well as industry events and
a summary on Reauthorization of the Higher Education Act.
